BACKGROUND

Dogs' natural tendency to chew, swallow and destroy often results in many toys not surviving for long periods of time, which is not only a waste of resources but also a threat to your pet's health. In addition to this, it is in the nature of dogs to maintain an interest for a short period of time, which can result in a large number of damaged or intact toys being squeezed and discarded. As a result, the life cycle of most pet toys tends to be short and harder to recycle.

MATERIAL EXPERMENT

In response to this problem, I have developed safe edible bioplastics in the context of the "circular economy" and in line with the nature of pets. Edible materials are capable of natural metabolism in living organisms and can be harmlessly degraded in the natural environment through composting. The innovation of the material helps pets avoid health risks, saves recycling steps and allows the waste material to be reabsorbed by other organisms as fertiliser. The short turnaround time (eaten or naturally decomposed) makes a positive contribution to keeping the market viable while achieving a reduction in resource waste.

PRODUCTION OF CUSTOMIZED

31101642437166_.pic.jpg
This material is suitable for production methods in addition to the common injection moulding process, but also for material extrusion 3D printing technology. Through the 3D printer and a mobile phone programme that recognises customisation, users can participate in co-designing and customising the type and detail of toy to suit their individual pet, supporting individual production. Throughout the process, the three categories - company, consumer and user - will be directly connected, bringing pets and people closer together while realising that big data feeds companies, enabling producers to use big data to update their products, achieving a data-driven virtuous circle and promoting the positive development of a circular economy.

USING PROCESS

The whole process is based on the optimisation of the product life cycle in accordance with the pet's nature.

In the early product definition phase, the pet is identified and customised in a way that achieves a good fit with the toy. At the end of the toy's life cycle, the extra step of recycling is eliminated, resulting in harmless disposal. At the same time the demand for toys driven by pets and the limited lifespan of the toys themselves keeps the market dynamic and promotes a continuous cycle through the entire production process.

Based on several basic forms of pet toys, users can design their own data in various details to come up with a toy style that is more suitable for their pet and produce it in the form of 3D printing.(thickness, hardness, dimensions, weight, etc.)

The combination of new materials and new technologies brings more opportunities and possibilities for the pet toy sector, not only for the "circular economy" of the product's own life, but also for the "development economy" of industrial development
